A fun family cycling experience Enjoy a wonderful traffic-free cycle around beautiful Leitrim where you can get some gentle exercise within the heart of the Irish countryside.
The Shannon Blueway is a beautiful 20km round trip between Leitrim Village and Drumshanbo Village and is perfect for any family holiday getaway.
It’s a traffic-free cycling experience that is safe, easy-going and fun for all the family.
Stop at Acres Lake Amenity Area in Drumshanbo for some refreshments at Jennys Tea Room or stop a while at the lake side while the kids get rid of any excess energy in the playground. In the summer months between June and August there is an open air heated swimming pool at Acres Lake Amenity Area so consider bringing your togs.
Take a look at the Shannon Erne Blueway, a 10 km round trip along the Shannon Erne Waterway. It’s the newest addition to our traffic free cycling routes and you can leave straight from our base in Leitrim Village.
Check out the traditional style Sheemore Bar and Grocery Shop at Kilclare Lock before making your return trip.
