Eileen and Seamus from Electric Bike Trails are offering an escape with an energising cycle on the tranquil Shannon Blueway in Co Leitrim, the ideal place to escape the hustle and bustle of life. Nestled between the majestic River Shannon and the Lough Allen Canal you can cycle along the water’s edge soaking up the peace and quiet. The trail is only 20 km round trip and connects the picturesque Leitrim Village with the village of Drumshanbo in the wake of Sliabh an Iarainn Mountain. To complete a perfect day immersed in nature enjoy a rejuvenating out door hot tub and sauna experience as well as spending time in the tranquil relaxation area at Drumhierny Woodland Hideaway.
Feel like a teenager again with the breeze in your hair, surrounded by bird song, wild flowers and shimmering waters. Get that walking on water feel as you cross over the iconic Acres Lake Floating Boardwalk. You will have earned a relaxing cuppa before your return to base either at the nearby, award winning, Jenny’s Tea Room or the Jackalope Café at The Shed Distillery in Drumshanbo Village.
For the cycle and wellness sanctuary experience enjoy a rejuvenating out door hot tub and sauna as well as spending time in the tranquil relaxation area at the end of your cycle. The wellness sanctuary is located at Drumhierney Woodland Hideaway, in a walled garden surrounded by original high walls and century old oak trees, beautifully landscaped to provide a secluded haven of tranquillity, for perfect relaxation. You can leave your bikes at Drumhierney Woodland Hideaway and we will collect them later so you can chill out after your cycle. It is only a short 10 min stroll back to Leitrim Village to collect your car.

• For cycle and spa package, collection of bikes is included, if required (in this case guests can stroll 10 minutes back to Leitrim Village to collect their parked car)
Note
• The cycling experience is provided on the understanding that customers are medically fit and able to cycle and are responsible for their own safety while cycling. A Waiver form to this effect will require signage before event.
• For the Spa Experience the completion of a consent form is required for each customer. (Min age 16)

The cycle and spa experience is available Monday to Thursday inclusive during summer season. Available Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays all other times of the year.
For the cycle and spa experience the Outdoor Hot Tub and Sauna is available between 4.00p.m. to 5.30p.m.

Parking: Free on street parking is available in Leitrim Village with additional parking behind Electric Bike Trails premises on Main St.
Guest parking is available at Drumhierney Woodland Hideaway at the Old Hunting Lodge, close to the main reception and the Wellness Sanctuary
• Comfortable warm clothing and rain gear is recommended for the cycle. Comfortable walking type shoes is also highly recommended with no open toe sandals or flip flops.
• The cycle trail is all traffic free with the 1st Km on a footpath from the Village to the start of the Blueway. From there the trail is flat along the canal bank with 2 hump back bridges and 2 road crossings. The surface of the trail is compacted unbound grave surface which is well maintained by Waterways Ireland. There are stop off points along the route with picnic benches and two rain shelters.
• For the cycle and spa experience towels, bathrobes and showering facilities are provided. Bring your own swim wear and slip on shoes.
